JOLT #1 - Just One Little Thing
I may be done writing my book. Editing it is another story altogether. But let me give you a preview of Investing in the Bank of Longevity, as well as the new format of my newsletter.
JOLT—Just One Little Thing—has been a mantra of mine since my days running an online gratitude group called The Gratitude Jar. The term came from a grieving mother who said life began to feel bearable again once she made a habit of finding just one little thingeach day to be grateful for.
That’s powerful.
This concept has become my universal starting point as a coach and teacher. When things feel daunting, start with Just One Little Thing.
That’s why, when compiling my two decades of training into a book, I chose to end each chapter with a suggested JOLT list. This way, the book becomes more of an active instruction manual rather than just a cerebral text.
I figured the same format would work well for my newsletter. I know I can get a little wordy—my wife likes to remind me that I don’t always remember why I started a conversation because we dive so deep. But JOLT won’t allow that.
JOLT helps us show up, check off something meaningful, and then go about our joyful day.
What’s Just One Little Thing that would move you closer to your goal?
